How I Went From Dark to Light Hair in 2 Months

I don't think I've done a story time type post before so this is going to be the first of, hopefully, many! I thought the best way to start was to show you how I went from practically black hair to a light brown, blonde colour in only 2 months. Hair transformations are quite a big thing and I wish I documented this more than what I did but I do have a few photos for reference.

As a bit of a back story, before going dark I was using a red packet dye that you can just pick up from the drugstore or grocery store and then started using the darkest brown dye over that. It was such a mess and my hair was very dark, almost black. I really loved having dark hair the only downside was the upkeep. My natural hair colour is a light mousey brown colour so the regrowth was very noticeable, which is why I eventually decided to go lighter. When I first went to my hairdresser I was thinking of doing 2-3 shades lighter, by the end of the whole process I was about 7 or 8 shades lighter. This is why I'm not a hairdresser!

Study Tips and Must Haves for University Students

It's been a while since I have actually studied but I've just gone back to college and thought I'd share some of my study tips with you all. I've just started my Diploma of Beauty Therapy and after not being at uni for more than 12 months it took me a few weeks to get back into the swing of things and these tips definitely would've helped me out a bit, or at least have been a stepping stone to get back into it.

Firstly, a diary is a must have. I love ones that have a day per page mainly because I like to document everything from class times to due dates and any other important assessment dates. I love the ones from Typo, like this 2016/2017 diary that I picked up before I started. I really love the glittery, rose gold cover and having a hard back diary is a must have.

Christmas Beauty Wishlist

I'm back again with another wishlist post! If you haven't seen my previous wishlist, you can read it here. A quick little update, I ended up getting 4 out of the 6 things on my last wishlist so hopefully I can acquire some of theses ones as well.

I've seen these products being raved about within the beauty community and I'm dying to get my hands on them. I have linked the Australian websites for your convenience, however if you are an overseas follower I'm sure these are readily available to you on either Sephora or even Beauty Bay!

IT Cosmetics CC cream

I love the look of this product! The high SPF is something that really appeals to me as there are many days where I forget to apply any SPF so it'd be nice to just have it in my foundation already. I also feel like it would be a one step base, as it is a CC cream it would colour correct any dark circles or blemishes so I wouldn't need a concealer. I am super excited to be able to try this product but Sephora seem to be out of stock of the lighter colours so I'm jumping on that waitlist.

Spring Makeup Look

I can't believe how quickly we've flown through this year! We are in Spring already! I really wanted to provide you all with another makeup look, typical me as I haven't posted any in quite a while. You don't usually see Spring inspired makeup looks, as it's just gone Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere - let's be real everyone loves Autumnal colours, so I thought I'd look around and try and pull something together for you.

I've been scouring through Pinterest day and night to try and find some spring inspired makeup looks. I honestly have found a gorgeous colour palette that I'm surprised there isn't more makeup looks like this. So many beautiful colours come out around spring time that I couldn't help but to try them all out. I was also inspired by Kasey Rayton's Dirty Peach tutorial which you can see here.

Of course, during Spring time all the beautiful flowers are blossoming again, but we still have nice cool, dewy mornings - this has given me something to work with! Dewy, bronzed skin and bright coral and peachy colours with a few faux freckles, and I really liked how it turned out.

5 Beauty Products You Didn't Know You Needed

As I'm sure you can tell from the title, I thought I'd give a little run down on the top 5 beauty products that you didn't know you needed. Of course plenty of bloggers have put these kind of lists out there but why not add to the already long list and give you my own little insight.

Micellar Water

This stuff is absolutely amazing! I'm sure you have all heard of Micellar water by now, and a lot of brands are releasing this. It removes makeup effortlessly - everyone needs it. I use the Garnier version and find that it works really well and it's affordable. However, I have heard good things about the Bioderma one as well which I definitely think I will try out sometime, although it is a little pricey.

Makeup Spring Clean

Well, I guess it's finally time for a spring theme post ;P I'm not the biggest fan of spring, but hey, it's better than summer. What better way to spend this season, than to clean out my makeup drawers, a Makeup Spring Clean if you will! I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a makeup hoarder so you can guarantee that I'm not going throw anything out. I'd much rather share some of the products that have found their way to the back of my makeup desk and ones that I don't often reach for with all of you.

Let's first address my makeup desk situation - all my brushes and most used makeup products are on my desk, in the drawer underneath there is quite a few palettes that I don't touch and have just managed to hoard for quite a while and then in the side compartment is a set of drawers that have any extra items that I don't reach for often enough for them to be sitting on the desk.

This post could get very long pretty quickly so I will only share a few items from each area and give a little background info on each item. They are all mostly drugstore items, as I have updated a lot of my makeup with high end products, but they are still great products nonetheless.

Must Have Beauty Products for When You Are Travelling

I don't know about you guys, but I love packing up my things and going away for a few days. It really helps me to relax and clear my head which is awesome for when I finally get back home. However, I struggle when it comes to packing my makeup. I get a little carried away and want to take everything because I think that I'm going to use it all. Let me tell you, I hardly touch my makeup! If you struggle, like me, then let me share with you the essential items that I pack.

I'll be honest, it takes me a pretty long time to decide what I want to pack, but as long as my base, eyes and lips are covered then I am fine. I try to pack as many universal items as possible and it doesn't necessarily go to plan.

I pack my makeup into this lovely hot pink Victoria's Secret bag, it is quite large so it definitely fits everything in it, even my brushes!!

Blogging Goals for 2017

I've finally realised that setting goals will help me achieve a lot more and allow me to expand my blog a lot more as well. Honestly, I am the worst at sticking to my goals but hopefully this coming year will be different!

It took me quite a while to get this list together as I really wanted goals that would be achievable, but hey I got there in the end. They are quite statistics based, but at the moment I really want to grow my audience and following before focusing on anything else. I do think they are very achievable and I plan on updating you all along the way.

I really wanted to share with you all my blogging goals for 2017, and how I plan on reaching them.

1. Have a consistent blogging schedule - I've been struggling with this lately, however I do have a journal where I am hoping to track my schedule and hopefully stick to it. Also just writing posts in advance so that I always have something available to post when I get busy is really going to help me out.
